In January 2010, Proposition 8 was challenged in California, under grounds that it violated the Federal Constitution. Despite hopes that this landmark trial, led by the legal power-team of Ted Olson and David Boies, might be televised, the Supreme Court made a rare intervention, barring any recording of the proceedings.
